Caring Hands
CQC Score

We are a Private Home (Domiciliary) Care Company covering the Nottinghamshire area.

Established in 2008, we provide care to people in the comfort of their own home, 365 days of the year, 7 days a week. We have built an excellent reputation for delivering care that puts you at the centre. We have fully embraced the philosophy introduced by the Care Quality Commission and Social Services ‘Putting People First’ and offer a ‘Person Centred Approach’.

The key to our success is the fact that we put you at the centre of what we do, encouraging you to help us deliver your care. We work with you to draw up your own care plan and regularly review the care we provide. We will help you to liaise with other healthcare professionals, ensuring that we have a joined-up approach to delivering your care. We have a stable team of carers, many of whom have been with us for many years which means you get to see regular faces.

Our staff are friendly and approachable, in fact our clients tell us that seeing them makes their day! We know it can be unsettling to have people come into your home, but we do our upmost to make you feel at ease and soon become someone to rely on and someone you can trust. Having a fantastic team behind us makes caring for you much easier – our carers go above and beyond for you and make sure you are supported to the very best of our abilities.

The best way to judge our home care service is to read what our customers say about Access2Care Home Care.

Can highly recommend Access2care. They have looked after my mother for over 7 years and in that time they have always shown care and compassion, nothing is too much trouble for them. They ensure that anything important is communicated in a timely manner and often go above and beyond. More recently they have supported the family in ensuring that measures were put in place to allow our mother's care to continue at home when we thought the only alternative was a nursing home. They are not only carers, but company for my mother and friends to the family. They come highly recommended.

I always find the Management and the Carers of Access 2 Care (Nottingham) very professional, accommodating and caring in their dealing with both myself and my 89 year old mother. I would have no hesitation in recommending them in the future.

Been using Access2Care for a few months now to care for my mum who has dementia. Honestly couldn’t be happier with the level of care my mum receives from this company. The carers that come are all lovely ladies, my mum is always laughing and joking with them. If she’s ever having a bad day, they always manage to lift her spirits. Really happy I chose Access2Care for my mum.

S Philpotts

We have being using Access2Care for the last few years for help with my husband. They are the loveliest people who always arrive with a smile. My husband adores all of them and they always check in on myself too. My family are so grateful for the help they have given us.

Frequently asked questions

What checks or training do your staff have?

All our staff undergo an enhanced DBS check and complete the Care Certificate. In addition to this, they have moving and handling training. The courses our staff complete are quite exhaustive from Infection Control, Health and Safety, Medication and Person-centred care to specialisms such as Dementia, Skin integrity, Catheter care, Sepsis and Pressure sores to name a few. By investing in staff training, it enables us to provide you with the best care that we can.

I have an immediate need – is there a long wait for your services?

We will always try to come and do an assessment as quickly as possible. We can let you know our capacity when you contact us. We can commence care packages in as little as 48 hours’ notice, and we will always aim to fulfill your needs as quickly as possible.

If I want to use your services, what do I need to do?

You can contact us by telephone or e-mail and we will be able to briefly discuss what you are looking for. We can confirm our capacity and if this is suitable then we will arrange for a home visit to further detail your needs and complete our assessments. From this, we will offer you a package of care, and if you are happy to proceed, we will confirm a start date. It’s as straightforward as that!

How do I pay for your service?

If you have had a social service assessment, they will let you know (depending on your financial situation) whether you are eligible for Direct Payments or whether you will be a self-funder (funding your own care). Either way, you will be able to use our service. To make things easier, we have one simple hourly rate (it doesn’t change in the evenings or weekends) however, we do charge more on Bank Holidays.

How do you check that I am happy with my care?

When you start your care package with us, we will contact you in the first week to see how things are going. We will also come out to see you to see how things are working and make any tweaks that may be necessary. Following that, we do periodical reviews with you – however, you are always welcome to contact us with anything you wish to discuss.

Will I have lots of different carers?

This is what makes us unique – we have a small team of regular carers that you will see. These will work in your local area and mean that you don’t have to get used to lots of different people coming into your home.
